Improvement of Suaganj-Pipulia, Banggodda-Dhalua-Biruli-Boxganj, Sadar Dakkhin-Hajotkhola-Kolomia-Shanichu, Cumilla(Balutupa)-Koneshtola-Suaganj-Bijoypur-Adinamura-Amratoli Road added to RHD Road Network from LGED into proper Standard and Width.

The proposed  project "Improvement of Suaganj-Pipulia, Banggodda-Dhalua-Biruli-Boxganj, Sadar Dakkhin-Hajotkhola-Kolomia-Shanichu, Cumilla(Balutupa)-Koneshtola-Suaganj-Bijoypur-Adinamura-Amratoli Road   into proper Standard and Width. " has been prepared on 4  nos. important Zilla roads recenty transferred from LGED to RHD road network. These roads are situated in the Cumilla Sadar Dakkhin, Chauddagram, Nangolkot, Barura and Lalmai  Upazillas under Cumilla District.  The total working length of these three roads is 84.08 km on aggregate.

These four roads are very important not only for the people of Cumilla Sadar and Sadar Dakkhin but also people of Burichong and Lalmai,Barura, Nangolkot and Chauddagram as well. There are many  important Growth Centres, educational institutes, socio-economic institutes, medical facility centers, agro-based industries and poultry industries are situated adjecent to these roads.  So lots of agricultural products like rice, wheat, daal, spices along with poultry products and vegetables are being transported to different parts of the country though these road on regular basis.

These roads are used as the prime means of communication this town to communicate with Dhaka, Comilla, Chandpur and Chittagong. Markets and various important organizations like Comilla University etc. are situated adjacent to these road.  A large number of people use these road regularly for their daily activities. Due to such large and frequent movement of people along with public and private transportation, these roads remain always busy and traffic congestions occur every now and then. Thesefour roads were formerly under the jurisdiction LGED. But recently the full length these 4 roads are being handed over to RHD by the Government of Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh through the gazzette . As in present situation none of these four roads are incapable conditon to cope with huge traffic that moves through these roads with immense suffering. So each of these roads need to be improved to proper standards. The carraige width of the road pavement are not adequete to provide the requirements of a safe and smooth movement of traffic. Moreover  due to two successive extended rainy season the sides of these road as well as the surface has been badly damaged and soil from shoulders and embankment was washed away which results in narrowing of the pavement with damaged surface, potholes, large depressions, broken edges, raincuts, soil sliding of embankment etc. Moreover there are many catchment areas like ponds, lakes,canals etc. situated very close to this road on both sides where soil from the embankment slopes got washed out by the heavy railfall which results in very steep and high embankment slopes. Even in some places lose of embankment lead to the breaking of pavement edge which eventually resulting the narrowing of the road. Therefore, protective work is urgently required to protect the road embankment and the pavement. Also, lack of drainage facilities at many segments of these roads cause the pavement to get damage every rainy season due to water infiltration, water clogging etc. To protect the pavement from water clogging and other water damages, drainage facilities is required at these portions of the mentioned roads. In connection of the above importance it is to be mentioned here that  the Honourable Finance Minister has given instruction regarding the overall improvement of these above mentioned four roads.
