Project Background
Mahipal interaction is the busiest intersection of Dhaka - Chittagong Highway connecting Dhaka and Chittagong at the North-South route w Feni and Laksmipur at the East-West route The present traffic in the junction and the projected traffic after the opening of p rendered the need to construct. Dhaka - Chittagong road and Feni - Laksmipur road is two national highways intersected at Mohipal. The traffic intensity in both the road inc ed abnormally and in Dhaka-Chittagong road it has gone beyond saturation level. Thus there is an unnecessary delay, traffic jams, and accidents. In the future the situation may worsen due to the traffic growth (Graphical representation is shown in bellow): a. Mohipalection on the Feni Bypass of Dhaka-Chittagong highway (N1) is a congested junction experiencing frequent traffic gridlocks and causing delays to inter-city traffic.
